Celebrating Cultures of Resistance

tonight i'm dj-ing at the time to laugh comedy club for a show to support the grassroots in kingston. there will be a few speakers and info booths. i'll be playing a set of electro-ish afrobeat and funky hip-hop around 10 pm. also, one of my favourite cfrc djs - dj haircut will be closing the night. the night will also mark the launch of a new local infoshop, Miasma, which will be distributing literature, media, and merchandise to raise money for local grassroots projects. doors are at 8pm. proceeds for the show go to kingston crimethink and the kingston mohawk support network - a group that has been doing actions in kingston to raise awareness about the unjust operation of a gravel quarry on mohawk land at tyendinaga.
